Just a warning this is a pretty long post!! It was a busy week with everything happening at the house! Then on top of the progress with the house we have been busy packing. We are moving out the apartment this week and
moving in with my mom until the house is done. We are so lucky to have
wonderful families that live nearby to help with us everything!
On Tuesday, the 7th, I drove by the house to find our brick was delivered and more siding work completed. I can't believe how quick that one siding guy can work. Also you can see that the roofer was finishing up.
The next day I drove by and there was scaffolding with our brick laid out ready to go on the house. Then I noticed stacks of something in the garage. I couldn't believe drywall was delivered!! While I was thrilled to see the drywall I was a little upset that I still hadn't heard about a pre-drywall meeting.
that is some huge pieces of drywall
On Thursday after leaving a message for Jeff the night before I got the call to schedule the meeting for the next day. While I wasn't thrilled about the late notice he said that is the only day he could do it so we made it work, after some last minute phone calls on Friday. They also started to lay the brick on Thursday. I accidentally turned off auto focus and didn't realize it until later so please excuse the blurry picture.
Friday we meet with Jeff at lunch time. It didn't take but about 30 minutes. We walked through the house and made sure all the changes to the house were there. While he wasn't sure about a close date since he didn't have a paint date yet, he said that March 30th should work. So that is our tentative close date. Hopefully everything will go as scheduled!! They were busy putting up insulation while we did our walk though and then someone from energy star was coming that evening to check the house before they put up drywall. Here are some pictures of the insulation.
the side of the the house has siding
I didn't go on Saturday since it was freezing and I was busy packing the apartment. Matt went with his dad at lunch time and they were already almost done dry walling the house. I still can't believe how quickly these guys can work sometimes!! On top of it all it was super windy and they were still trying to lay brick there is no way you would catch me on that scaffolding with 20+ mph winds!!

According to Jeff to should take about 4 days to finish the drywall with mud and everything. Then a crew will come in and clean up. He should also find out our paint date this week! I can't wait for everything to start coming together! Wow looking back I can't believe how much has happened in the past week!
