Electic, Pluming, HVAC

So since the 19th they have been working on the house but the changes are smaller and harder to notice. On the 20th, Matt went by the house and the electricians were hard at work. They let us know that the two day job turned into a four day job, which meant that Matt couldn't run anything that week-end. At this point most of the plumbing and HVAC was done. They still have some HVAC work left to do, but 90% seems done.

The next week the electricians finished on Tuesday and other people were in and out of the house but I am not really sure what they were working on. On Saturday, the 28th, we went to the house and ran TONS of cable, internet, and phone lines. Thank goodness Matt had recruited two friends to help him otherwise I am not sure he would be done. I learned how convenient it is to have Lowe's 5 minutes from the house after my second trip in about an hour. While driving though the neighborhood I realized that there was a sold sign on the lot next to ours. I stopped into the model house to check on it and was very excited to here that it is sold. Once that house is done we won't have any construction next to us or across the street. Here are a few pictures of the boys working hard on the house.

As you can see we have just a wires for the house!

Today I got an e-mail from the sales rep that we have to change brick color, because they are unable to get our first choice. So Wednesday we have to pick out a new brick, hopefully it won't be too hard for us!! Also she mentioned that we should hear about a date for our pre-drywall meeting here soon. Now we are looking for the inspector to come and our roof to be finished.

Georgia and the House

After making some phone calls early on Thursday I found it would work to meet with the electrician, we just couldn't walk upstairs. Luckily we had a good idea of what we wanted so it all worked out perfectly. I didn't take any pictures that day but we had windows and a front door. It amazing how much some windows change the look of the house.

Now we weren't able to drive by the house again until Tuesday the 17th. This was the longest I have gone without visiting the house but it was for a great cause!! We went down to Georgia to celebrate my sister's birthday. Her husband planned a great surprise birthday party at a local winery! I am so glad that we were able to celebrate with her. Now growing up we had our differences but as we got older we became great friends! While living in GA and going to college down there we became much closer. We had our Sunday baking days and I spent many week-ends at their house. She has been there for me during some tough times and help to celebrate the good times. I feel so lucky to have such an amazing sister. While I don't live 15 minutes away from her anymore I know that she is always there for me, and I love to spend time with her and her husband whenever we get the chance.

On Tuesday, the 17th, I drove by the house on my lunch break and the plumbers and HVAC were hard at work. I ran in the house to see how it looked but since they were working so hard I didn't take any pictures. I was just happy to see stairs and people working.

On Wednesday, the 18th, I went to the house after work and was able to walk around. It was so great  to go upstairs and check out the whole place. So here are some pictures to enjoy :)

On the next day, the 19th, I figured the electrician would have started so I ran by the house even though it was snowing. I ran in and was happy to see that they had been working that day and electric work was started. So here are two last pictures. This week-end Matt is planning on running some cable and speaker wire. The first DIY project for the house!

Wrapped Up

On Saturday, the 7th, they had the plywood roof on and we got to walk around the first floor of the house. We don't have stairs so we can't go upstairs really since I don't trust myself to climb on the wood pieces laying around.

The next day we stopped by to see if they started roofing, and while they didn't everything was cleaned up. The framing is officially done. They also put the framing up for the half wall separating the kitchen from the living room.

On Tuesday, the 10th, they wrapped the house, and started putting tar paper on the roof. I noticed a few boxes in the garage so I went to check it out and it was duct work for the HVAC.
Today, the 11th, it rained some so I was really hoping they managed to get in under roof but when I turned onto our road I just saw plywood. It doesn't look like anything was done on the actual house. The only addition was a delivery of our windows. I can't wait to see the windows installed.

Now tomorrow we are supposed to meet with the electrician to go over everything and add anything extra. The only problem is that we still don't have steps. So tomorrow morning I have to make some phone calls and figure out if we are still meeting with him or not. Hopefully everything will workout and the steps will be in before our meeting.

We are framed!!

This post is about 90% pictures. On the 29th I drove by to see lots of wood, which meant framing had to start sometime soon.

These random boards happened on the 30th, not sure of the purpose still

I really didn't think they would start framing until after the holiday week-end but they were hard at work on Saturday.
They are on the ceiling to the "man cave"/ floor of the master bedroom
All the walls laying on the floor waiting to be put up
Look down from the garage into the man cave then basement

They took the day off from framing on the 1st, but even with the snow they were back to work on the 2nd. I still can't believe how quick these guys work.

Now on the 3rd I didn't get to check out the house very much since I had NASTY stomach bug come my way. I did convince my mom however to drive by the house after she had to come and pick me up from work. Needless to say I have no pictures of the house on the 4th as I just laid in bed with Bosco all day and night. Matt drove by the house though and said it didn't look like any work was done on the house but the roof was dropped off.
We have a second floor :)

On the 5th we got the framing for the roof and it seems all the framing is DONE!! When I showed up after work they were just finishing up. It was kinda fun to see them lift the huge pieces onto the house. From the first picture to the last it only took them around 15 minutes...CRAZY!!

It is exciting for it to start looking like a house!!
