Colorado part 2

Well this post is more than a little late. So I will just jump right in on Wednesday we headed down to Colorado Springs. First stop was the rodeo museum, I had no idea how large this place would be.

After that we drove around some and then checked into the hotel, since Matt was still feeling a little under the weather after all that walking he took a nap. I booked a Jeep tour for us later that day. It was a great time and we got to see many great sights. He took a little detour and we got see the Broadmoor hotel, I remember going there for brunch and it is still such a beautiful place.

we started on the road way down there!!

After the jeep tour we headed over the garden on gods and then made our way down a dirt road.

Pikes Peak was on the schedule on Thursday, of course due to high winds we couldn't all the way to top so we decided to drive rather than taking the cog.
After pikes peak we went on another jeep tour. This one was more bumpy and therefore didn't make for lots of great pictures. I was a great experience. I am so glad that we did it even though I wasn't all for it at first since we had just done one the night before. Here a few pictures
the "road"
There is our time in Springs, it was so much fun and we loved our time down there. On Friday we had plans to go to Estes Park and we went but it was rainy and cold so we couldn't go horseback riding as planned. I didn't get any good pictures as it was foggy and snowing off and on. We got to enjoy a baseball with my cousins on Saturday and it was great time. We took in downtown and had a great lunch before the game. Here is a picture of the boys at the game at the "mile-high seats" that we checked out before the game started.

Our trip is coming to an end. On our last day we went to Fort Collins to see the budweiser brewery.

That is our trip. I had such a great time visiting with family and seeing all the sights. I am glad Matt was able to get to know my grandparents, cousins, and aunt a little better since they had only meet once before at our wedding. It makes me happy just thinking about the time we were able to spend together!! The only sad part is that I didn't think to take pictures Aunt Peggy, Jeremy and Josh. Also I had taken a few pictures of my grandparents but something went wrong they are lost.

Nice Suprise

Well as most of you know I had a set back with work before I even started. As a speech therapist we have to have state licensure before we can work and bill insurance. Well I got some bad news after the board had their last meeting on the 1st, they had only received my undergrad transcripts, which really don't mean anything to them. So after some phone calls to Valdosta State they sent out the correct graduate transcript, the only problem was the board only meets twice a month. This meant I couldn't start work until two weeks after I had planned on starting. I gave the transcript a few days to arrive to the board and then I called to make sure they had everything they needed and they said was I set to go for the 15th review. Well today I decided to double check and see if they happened to meet early and well to my surprise they did!! What a great sight! Things seem to be all falling into place so I can start work Monday :)

Colorado part 1

So this post is a little delayed, but it took some serious time to go though all the pictures that I took while in Colorado. The trip was amazing, enough though Matt managed to get step throat on the second day and was laid up pretty much for two days. It is so pretty out there and it was great to see family that we don't get to see nearly enough.

So on our first full day we headed out to Golden with my cousins and had a full but great day. The first stop was the Coors tour, even though I not a huge fan of beer it was still fun.

all the guys learning about beer.

enjoying the free samples

Then Jeremy told us about a great little pizza place so we ate some lunch before heading up lookout mountain where Buffalo Bill is buried.

These deer were right by the road just looking at us.

Matt did the driving and it was quite funny. He got very frustrated by the number people riding up the mountain.

 Matt enjoying the view :)

How could you not love this view?

 Looking over the edge...yikes

On the way home we decided to stop by Red Rocks Amphitheater. It was so pretty and unlike anything around Ohio.

I love how we are both looking in the same direction.

Just holding up a rock..lol

As you can tell we had a very busy first day! Later that night Matt started to get sick so the next day he stayed in bed and I spent some time with my grandparents. I went to the library with my grandma and just hung out around the house. Then on Monday once he still wasn't feeling better I decided it was time for urgent care. Later that day he was feeling a little better so we drove out to the Eisenhower Tunnel which is the highest tunnel for vehicles in the world and is just about 1.6 miles long. Also with it being a higher elevation it was snowing but luckily it wasn't sticking to the roads. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

Pretty snow covered mountains

I could hardly even see the road at times with the fog and snow.

A cute little town on the way

As you can tell I took a ton of pictures. On Wednesday we headed down to Colorado Springs so that will be on the next post.
